London Underground Station Maps

This is a catalogue of official maps of the underground railway system of London, which were produced as quad royal posters for affixing to station walls. This list is maintained by Peter Lloyd in London, England. Please e-mail any comments, corrections, or additions to me at 'ursa at easynet.co.uk' (replacing 'at' with '@').. This is a private web site, and I have no connection with the bodies responsible for rapid transit in London. (See www.thetube.com and www.londontransport.com for the official sites for the Tube and the London Transport Museum, respectively.)

There is no official list of these maps, as far as I know. Anne Letch's booklet does not cover them, and I don't think Burwood and Brady's booklet does either. Ken Garland's richly illustrated book has a few, but does not aim to be comprehensive. Where possible, I have based the information on my own collection, but I have acknowledged other sources where I have used them. (The last column of the map tables indicates the source of information: P = my private collection, L = London Transport Museum, courtesy of Max Roberts).

2. Overground & underground maps

In 1973, T.P. Demuth designe a map of both the underground and overground railways of London and the surrounding commuter belt. This was generally referred to as the "London Connections" map in both the fold-up pocket map and the station poster map.
