Zabbar

One of the two venues for Deborah Marshall-Warren's training courses in hypnotherapy is in the town of Zabbar, in the Mediterranean island of Malta.

Venue

The town of Zabbar is located twenty minutes by road from Malta International Airport. It is also thirty minutes by road from the capital city, Valetta. Please refer to the online map provided by multimap.com. (By the way, the name "Zabbar" means "Village of the Earth".)

Malta is an extraordinary island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. It is rich in history and natural beauty, and you may wish to combine the four days of intensive training with some days of leisure on the island.

From Zabbar, you can take one of the island's famous buses (no. 19, in fact) directly to the central bus terminus (by the Triton Fountain) outside the main gates to the medieval citadel of Valetta. From the central terminus, you can take a bus to every town and village on the island. (Always make sure that you have small change, as the bus fares are generally under 50 Maltese cents.)

Accommodation

Accommodation is recommended at the Corinthia Jerma Palace Hotel, which has a 4 star rating and is located at Marsaskala Bay (see map), a lively Maltese fishing village. It is only a few miles away from the archaeological world heritage sites of Hagar Qim, Mnajdra and Tarxien Temples, as well as the picturesque fishing village of Marsaxlokk, and the three Medieval cities near the Grand Harbour. The hotel is a thirty-minute drive from the island’s main city, Valetta.

Malta's 500 buses are privately owned, mostly by the men who drive them. The buses have come from different sources, some built in Malta and many bought second-hand abroad. You rarely see two buses that are alike.

Trains

Sadly, Malta's train and tram networks were dismantled more than seventy years ago. The only public transport now is by bus.
