ABOUT THE BOOK |
||||||||
|
We are all becoming aware of the importance of detoxing our bodies, but what about the importance of detoxing our minds? Deborah Marshall-Warren, a hypnotherapist practising in London, UK, offers you the opportunity to learn more in her book entitled Mind Detox, which is available now. Mind Detox teaches you how to boost confidence and well-being with powerful dialogue techniques that combine relaxation, contemplation, and creative visualisation. It shows you how to clean away the cobwebs of negative thought that stop you realising your full potential by teaching you the art of personal inner coaching. This allows you to get in touch with your 'wise part' - the part of you which is creative, energetic, successful, and loving - and make sure this 'wise part' turns up when you need it, responds positively to life, and generally helps you get what you want. Whatever you want to do - build confidence, lose weight, face a tough public speaking engagement or give up smoking - Mind Detox lets you tap into your inner power and change your life. You will find that you already have what you need - in your inner mind. What is distinctive about the Mind Detox method is its working metaphor, the inner team. Deborah invites you to think of your mind as comprising a team of players, each of whom contributes something to your personality. There will be winning players such as Patience, and unhelpful players, such as Fear. The idea is to take charge of the hiring and firing and coaching of these players, and to get them to work together for your benefit. Stopping smoking and weight loss are two subjects treated in depth in the book. Deborah takes you through specific illustrations of applying the Mind Detox method if you want to leverage your own inner wisdom and power to achieve these goals. Mind Detox is published by Thorsons. A stand-alone companion audio-tape is also available for the book, featuring 'The Orange Liquid Detox'. The audio-tape is read by the author.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR |

|
Deborah
Marshall-Warren
is a hypnotherapist in practice in London.
Deborah's work has featured regularly
in the national press, magazines and radio.
Her passion and the extraordinary success of clients, enabling and ennobling their lives through hypnotherapy, continue to fuel her commitment to helping change the general public's perception of hypnosis and hypnotherapy as the way forward to change their mind and liberate their lives. She frequently works together alongside highly pressurised workers, company executives and investment bankers. Her clients come to manage stress, to prepare for interviews, to rehearse public speaking engagements, to develop more focus and concentration, and increasingly to build confidence and self-esteem in a business climate which does not afford individuals the time to step back and acknowledge their achievements before presenting the next challenge, the next deadline, the next profit margin. The wonderful thing about hypnotherapy is that it accelerates the process of change and transformation in a person's life. It is not about going to see a therapist week after week. It is about accessing one's own inner power to change life for the better in the way a person wants. Clients are more than likely to notice some change after the first session and be on their way within five - and frequently fewer - sessions, for the process allows individuals to access their inner power to change their mind. In Mind Detox, Deborah Marshall-Warren distils from her experience some potent techniques for self-coaching. Using an approach that has proven highly successful with a wide range of clients, she guides you through a step-by-step process of inner dialogue and visualisation.

Wings of ThoughtReflections inspired by the way in which the angels in Wim Wenders' film, "Wings of Desire", gently redirected people's inner dialogue onto more positive tracks. (You may have seen the more recent Hollywood remake of the film, "City of Angels". (January 1998)
Free GiftsThe gifts of the spirit are free to each of us, yet infinitely more valuable than any gift that could be purchased. The amazing thing is that you already have them! (February 1998)
Designer LabelsDesigner labels can make us desirous of clothes and scents that we can covet and buy in the shops. But what about the labels that have been attached to you, by your family, your friends, people you work with, people you meet? Maybe you could design better labels for yourself? (March 1998)
The Lightness of BeingInstead of being weighed down by dark and heavy thoughts and scripts, we can polish our inner jewels and find lightness and brightness. (April 1998)
Language: Diet for the MindHow you feel about yourself and about any situation you find yourself in can be affected very much by the words you use. These words are especially effective in your inner dialogues: the little conversations that are constantly going on inside your head! Enriching and brightening your choice of words can change your state of mind! (May 1998)
Your Life SentenceDo you limit yourself with a 'life sentence'? - a phrase or sentence that defines your life negatively? Well, scrub it out and write a new one! (June 1998)
Building ConfidenceBy sifting through the scripts and self-images that you retain in your mind, you can identify ones that rob you of your confidence. Throw them out! And rediscover inner wisdom that needs only to be cleaned up and brought back into play. (August 1998)
